Help us stock our cupboards... and help our neighbours!
Ever had trouble choosing to pay for hydro or food? Ever had to ask your landlord for an extension on rent day? Did you ever need to choose between purchasing groceries or medication?
That is what many of our neighbours have to decide. The food bank eases some of the burden... not all of course. The idea is that we try to have healthy food in stock, Many of our nieghbours have health issues, and carefully read labels about slat and sugar content.
These our items that we want to collect:
Potatos, Onions, carrots, beets, apples, cheese ( un processed)
Canned Goods: -Vegetables, Tomatoes, tuna, salmon, sardines, ham, etc., Canned fruit, milk tomatoe sauce
Soups, especially cream soups
Herb and spices ( to help flavour the meals ), salt
almond milk, juice, instant coffee, ground coffee, tea
Peanut butter, jam, other spreads,
cooking oil, ( small sizes )
chick pees, black beans, red beans, baked beans
